My upcoming novel, The Dance of Azure and Crimson, is a tri-POV Young Adult Fantasy novel set in a high fantasy early-1800s-inspired world.
The 16th birthday of the Crown Princess of the Reyalion Empire, Princess Elizabeth, is fast approaching, and with it, the spectacle of a generation—the first of Praelium of Suitors in several generations. The details of the competition remain bathed in mystery, yet one thing is certain. The winner of the Praelium will marry Princess Elizabeth, the King’s only child, and become heir to the throne. Everyone in the empire is anxiously waiting to see what the competition will entail and who will be competing in it. But everything goes wrong when a plot to overthrow the royal family is discovered, orchestrated by a mysterious, unidentifiable man in a crimson cloak—one of the contestants in the competition. This forces three unlikely individuals to work together to prevent the man in the crimson cloak from becoming the King of the very empire he seeks to destroy: a stable boy having strange dreams, the Crown Princess herself, and the Princess’s governess who has a secret she’s sworn to keep. Through a web of political intrigue, murder, and forbidden magic, the three individuals must uncover the truth.
